The Cheatham County Commission convened Monday to consider the 2018-2019 fiscal year budget, but not everything is set in stone, particularly the school district’s budget.

Unable to come to a consensus on allocation of funds from a tax levy — particularly, over whether to provide additional funding to the school district — after hours of discussion, commissioners opted to adjourn the July 9 meeting around 10 p.m. and will consider the levy again at its regularly-scheduled meeting July 16.

The commission approved the proposal by the budget committee with one amendment, though several were proposed and failed.
