NIEER Launches Preschool Matters! Newsletter

The National Institute for Early Education Research (NIEER), established in January 2002, recently issued its first Preschool Matters newsletter. The first issue, which reports on teacher training, Pre-K programs in New Jersey, California and Florida, and other early education topics, is now available online.

NIEER's mission is to support "early childhood education initiatives by providing objective, nonpartisan information based on research." The organization is part of an early education initiative funded by The Pew Charitable Trusts and is led by Steve Barnett. Among other goals, NIEER plans to monitor and evaluate progress toward quality preschool across the country.

NIEER also publishes Preschool Policy Matters policy briefs and concise Preschool Fact Sheets.
