Join Us in June!
For six consecutive years, the National Access Network’s
Quality Education Conference has brought together litigators
pressing for fair and equal opportunity, organizers
advocating for quality education in good schools, policy
experts researching education programs and finance,
and educators working to improve classroom results –
and this year is no exception. The 7th Annual
Quality Education conference on June 7-8 at the Westin
Washington DC City Center Hotel will include
plenary sessions, discussion break out sessions, workshops,
and exciting speakers. Co-sponsored by the Public Education
Network, the Education Law Center, and the Rural School
and Community Trust, this year’s event will feature
sessions on overcoming achievement gaps, cost studies,
statewide organizing, English Language Learners, facilities
and an array of other issues.
Together with these exciting sessions, the conference
will feature interactive workshops, such as the Organizing
Workshop, the perennially popular Litigators’
Workshop and the Roundup from the States. Participants
will benefit from several influential speakers, with
the Keynote Address from Congressman Charles B. Rangel,
Chair of the House Ways and Means Committee, the Luncheon
Address from the Honorable George Bundy Smith, retired
Associate Judge of the New York Court of Appeals, and
welcoming remarks from Wendy Puriefoy, President of
Public Education Network. The conference will also include
the plenary session, “What More will the 100th
Congress Address?” with Jack Jennings, President
and CEO of the Center on Education Policy. The agenda
is available on the conference website: http://www.schoolfunding.info/conference/agenda.php3.
The conference is by invitation only. If you need an
invitation, feel free to contact us. The 7th Annual
Quality Education Conference is an opportunity to meet
and share experiences with lawyers, organizers, policy
makers, and educators and will play an important role
in strengthening the links between school funding litigation,
public engagement, and education policies that strengthen
public schools.
