Reality Check 2002: Continued Support for Higher Academic Standards

On March 5, Public Agenda and Education Week announced the results of the fifth annual Reality Check survey of attitudes toward raising academic standards. Making Standards Work

In August 2001, Columbia University's Teachers College hosted the 60th annual Superintendents' Work Conference for school district superintendents from across the United States. Conference participants representing all types of school districts signed onto "Making Standards Work," which explains how to make standards-based reform successful for all students and emphasizes the need for qualified teachers.
