Alaska
Federation of Natives
Alaska Federation of Natives is a statewide non-profit
advocacy organization organized to improve the general
welfare of Alaska Native people. Membership is made
up of Alaska Native Regional Corporations, Non-Profit
Native Associations, rural village representatives,
and individuals. The Alaska Federation of Natives has
consistently advocated for improved funding for rural
schools in Alaska, and for funding from the Federal
Government to address the special needs of Alaska Natives.

Alaska
Rural Systemic Initiative The Alaska Rural Systemic Initiative is
a partnership of the Alaska Federation of Natives, the University of Alaska, and
rural school districts to systematically document the cultural knowledge of Alaska
Natives as the basis of reforming local school curricula and instructional methods. Director:

for the Educational Advancement of Alaska's Children Citizens for
the Educational Advancement of Alaska's Children (CEAAC) is a member of Alaska's
Children, Alaska's Future, a project of the National Education Association of
Alaska. CEAAC describes itself as representing many of Alaska's rural school districts
in their quest to obtain more money for the education of rural, and mostly Native

Cook Inlet Tribal
Council, Inc. The stated mission of the Cook Inlet Tribal Council is
to provide culturally appropriate services for Native individuals, families, and
communities so that they can achieve self-determination. The Center aims to use
its Educational
Services Department and its Youth Services Center to work with Native young
people. Programs offered by the Center and Department include the Before and After
School Program and the In-School Youth Program, both of which especially target
at-risk students for tutoring and pre-employment training.

Alaskans Institute
The stated mission of the First Alaskans Institute
is to develop the capacities of Alaska Native Peoples
and their communities to meet the social, economic and
educational challenges of the future, while fostering
positive relationships among all segments of Alaskan
society. First Alaskans says it pursues its mission
by focusing on education, leadership development and
policy analysis and development. Among its strategies
is to advance education for Alaska Natives by strengthening
educational achievement at all levels and promoting
systemic change for continuous improvements in education.

Tanana
Chiefs Conference, Inc.
The Tanana Chiefs Conference describes itself
as "a unified voice" promoting tribal governments, economic and social
development, and educational opportunities for Natives, while protecting traditional
and cultural values. The Conference offers specialized programs in the areas of
health, employment, economic development, and general family services.
