Advocates for Community and Rural Education (ACRE)

ACRE describes itself as a community organization that works to improve rural schools. The organization’s goal is to get citizens involved at both the local and state levels in order to identify rural schools that are threatened by fiscal problems, academic problems, or school closings, and to take steps to save those schools.

Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families (AACF)

The Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families works to protect and promote the rights and well-being of children and families through research, education, and advocacy. Areas of focus in education are school funding, low-income tax relief, supports for working families, child care and early childhood education.

AACF filed an amicus brief with the Arkansas Supreme Court in the Lakeview case.

Arkansas Citizens First Congress

The Congress is a multi-issue statewide coalition of grassroots and policy organizations with over 50 member organizations, including labor unions, grassroots environmental, civil rights, child advocacy and good government groups. Areas of focus in education are funding equity, school tax reform, civil rights.

Arkansas Public Policy Panel

The Arkansas Public Policy Panel is dedicated to achieving social and economic justice in Arkansas by organizing and strengthening local citizen groups statewide and building coalitions. The Panel organizes mostly in rural, low-income and minority communities. Areas of focus in education are public school funding, funding equity, vouchers/privatization, school tax reform, funding for special needs students, capital needs, and civil rights.
