The Arts in Education Program

As an initiative of the Commission on the Arts, the Arts in Education Program supports activities which promote the arts as an essential characteristic of public education. The organization provides support for a variety of arts education projects by encouraging communication between educators and awarding competitive grants. Its programs include Artist in Residence Grants, artists working educational settings, Arts as Basic Grants, for planning and development, School Connections: Audiences of Tomorrow, support for school touring, and Professional Development for educators. The AIE program also provides state- level leadership for arts education policy development and sponsors conferences, symposia and technology to further the field of arts education.
