The Center for Rural Policy and Development describes
itself as a non-partisan policy research organization
that aims to provide Minnesota's policymakers with the
rural perspective in crucial issues. The Center is operated
by a professional staff with guidance from a board,
fifteen of whose members are appointed by the Governor
(the other five are chosen by the board itself). The
Center has published a report,
Small Schools Under Siege: Evidence of Resource Inequality
in Minnesota Public Schools, as well as a policy
brief derived from the report.

Minnesota Budget Project
The Minnesota Budget Project describes itself as an
active voice for tax fairness and a balanced approach
to the state's budget. The Minnesota Budget Project
provides independent research, analysis, and advocacy
on budget and tax issues, emphasizing their impact on
low- and moderate-income Minnesotans and the organizations
that serve them. Their stated mission is to provide
interested citizens, elected officials, and community
leaders with timely and accurate information so that
they can become more active and effective participants
in the public policy debate.

Parents
United For Public Schools
Parents United for Public Schools describes itself
as "a statewide, grassroots organization of concerned
and informed Minnesota parents and citizens committed
to Minnesota’s leadership in quality public education."
Its three stated missions are: "to actively educate
and engage a growing statewide network of parents and
other citizens who will act on behalf of Minnesota’s
public school children; hold elected officials accountable
for providing the necessary policies and funding to
enable public schools to meet state and federal academic
standards and allow all students to reach their highest
potential; and continually work with parents, school
officials, teachers, business and community leaders
across Minnesota to promote an environment in which
public schools can flourish."
