"Starting at 3" Project Launched by Education Law Center and Rutgers University

The Education Law Center (NJ), which has represented the plaintiff schoolchildren in New Jersey's groundbreaking Abbott v. Burke school funding case, and the Rutgers University Institute on Education Law and Policy, an interdisciplinary research center analyzing ways to improve urban public education, have launched a joint project on early childhood education: "Starting at 3." The "Starting at 3" project will research and disseminate information on the current status of early childhood education and promote strategies for expanding the legal right to early education through legislation or the courts. The project provides direct technical assistance to attorneys and advocates involved in litigation asserting the right to preschool education. Watch for coming announcements of a website, conferences, and research results.
