Action Project of Tulsa County (CAP)
CAP's stated mission is to improve the economic prospects
of very young low-income children, their families and
communities. They provide a variety of services to the
low-income community. Their range of services includes
early childhood education; safe & affordable rental
housing and renovated homes for sale; a first-time homebuyers
support & education program; financial education;
income tax preparation assistance; screening and application
assistance for public benefit programs; and policy analysis
and advocacy.

The
Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund
(MALDEF)
MALDEF describes itself as a nonprofit Latino litigation,
advocacy and educational outreach institution. According
to MALDEF, its mission is to foster sound public policies,
laws and programs to safeguard the civil rights of Latinos
living in the United States and to empower the Latino
community to fully participate in our society.

Organization
of Rural Oklahoma Schools (OROS)
OROS describes itself as a group of approximately 400
schools that strives to promote, help, and preserve
rural schools. The members of OROS believe in the potential
of rural schools and oppose legislative efforts to consolidate
small, rural districts. They have worked for the past
15 years with other state educational advocacy groups,
as well as with the executive and legislative branches
of Oklahoma state government. OROS aims to keep its
members informed on education and legislative developments
affecting rural schools through conferences, seminars,
and a newsletter.
