Institute for School Reform- Brown University
The Annenberg Institute for School Reform, established
in 1993, describes itself as an independent research
center at Brown University with the goal of improving
the conditions of schooling in America. The Institute
is a standards-based and practice-centered policy and
research organization. The work of the AISR focuses
on four areas: redesigning school districts, developing
and supporting educational leadership, rethinking accountability,
and fostering community-centered approaches to education
reform. The Institute accomplishes its goals through
research and analysis, collaborations with partner organizations,
technical support for local initiatives, conferences,
and dissemination of informative publications on school
reform.
