Founded in April 2002 by representatives from Tennessee's
major statewide K-12 organizations, the Coalition for
Tennessee's Future states
that its purpose is to obtain adequate state funding
for the state's K-12 public schools. Member organizations
include the Tennessee School Systems for Equity, the
Tennessee
Education Association (TEA), Tennessee
School Boards Association (TSBA), and the Tennessee
Association of School Business Officials (TASBO).

Stand for Children
Stand for Children is a grassroots advocacy organization
that advocates for state and local programs that improve
the lives and well-being of children, particularly in
the areas of education and health care. Their mission
is to “teach everyday people how to join together
in an effective grassroots voice in order to win concrete,
long- lasting improvements for children.” They
are a national organization with state affiliates in
Massachusetts, Oregon, and Tennessee.
