Vermont Children's Forum

The Vermont Children's Forum, founded in 1953, describes itself as a nonpartisan, nonprofit, education, resource, and advocacy organization focused on key child and youth public policy concerns. Through its Public Education Project, the Forum plans to strengthen support for public schools and promote equal access to public education for all of the state's children. The Forum's stated program includes building public awareness of and support for Vermont's Equal Education Opportunity Act (Act 60) of 1997 in order to ensure that it is enforced. The organization is also a member of the Rural Equity Collaborative, which seeks to improve the equity and adequacy of school finance systems affecting poor, rural areas.
