The Institute for Wisconsin's Future (IWF) is a statewide policy research and community education center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Their mission is to inform residents about issues affecting their lives and increase citizen involvement in decision making on key state policies.

Wisconsin Budget Project

The stated goals of the Wisconsin Budget Project include providing accurate and timely information to the public and to policymakers on vital fiscal matters, particularly those that affect low-income families, and supporting lively public debates on those matters. Project staff testifies before legislative and other state bodies and also works with local organizations to bring its findings directly to the people. One of the Project's areas of focus is education, and its reports, including Senate Task Force Takes Long View of School Finance (September 2002), are available on its website.

The Wisconsin Center for Education Research

The Wisconsin Center for Education Research, established in 1964 by the University of Wisconsin-Madison, describes itself as a research and development center with a commitment to improving American education by studying the nature of learning environments and their effects on students. While the Center conducts research on an array of topics pertaining to education, a primary focus is placed on how educational processes and social policy can best meet the needs of students from different cultural and educational backgrounds. WCER conducts research, develops educational products, participates in educational information dissemination, and collaborates with other researchers, as well as policymakers and practitioners in the educational field.
