The authors describe this analysis
as a working document that assessed the federal
funding needed for implementing NCLB, meant for
planning and decision-making and not intended for
formal publication. The preliminary study divided
state programs mandated by NCLB into seven categories
and estimated their cumulative cost at $358 million.
According to the study’s estimates, the state
would have to provide an extra $175 million to meet
NCLB costs.
