The Center for Educational Equity is unveiling a 40-year database of state fiscal efforts for education titled: Trends in State Support for Education (1986-2019). The database provides a valuable comparative tool that sets in perspective how individual states have invested in education over time, and broad state-level trends from the Census Bureau and National Assessment of Education Progress. The data spans 1986 to 2016, and details high school graduation rates, dropout rates, adult and juvenile incarceration rates, unemployment rates, union regulation, NAEP scores, and immigration trends. The Center for Educational Equity thanks William A. Owings and Leslie Kaplan for collecting and contributing this extensive data set.
